Easy To Carry The Baby

With the birth of a first child, the Rookie concept was created. Since were absolute rookies, had no idea what lay in store for us. But that didn't stop us from taking a 7-week-old baby on a globe tour. In constant search for the ideal baby carrier, have carried it across cities and forests. However, never did.

After 1.5 years and 100,000 miles as carrier experts, made the decision to create The Rookie, own ideal baby carrier. So, to begin, cut a piece of fabric freehand into the shape of a "baby carrier," then stapled it together. Then, attach this to an old belt via sewing. And in doing so, produced an initial prototype.

Went to the go-to tailor in Berlin's Prenzelberg because had no idea about textile production or how to turn a prototype into a finished product. The typical cutter of pants, the seamstress, gave us a wide-eyed stare. Was it really that difficult to turn the stapled baby carrier into a real baby carrier? Still trying. The first sewed prototype was in hands a few days later.
