After the New Year's celebrations had subsided, I was living in Palm Coast, FL, and felt a strange knot in my gut. It almost felt like I was missing out on life. After speaking with a few close friends, I realized I had what many sailors refer to as 'the itch' (i.e., I was longing to get back out on the water but didn't recognize it). I sent out a few resumes and kept working on the Paul Landry Empire while I waited to hear back. In March, I received a call from a skipper in Ft. Myers, FL, who offered me an incredible chance as a First Mate on board a superyacht. I was literally taken on board after a brief three-day 'trial run'. It was only my second time doing so, and my first time in the Caribbean. I could talk about my experience there for days, but we don't have enough time. After successfully delivering the yacht to the Dutch island of Bonaire, I returned to Fort Myers to fulfill my commitment. Show Less
